That’s a helpful analogy and, on the surface, it’s a bit discouraging to see the past as having truly had passed, not living on in any possible way - likewise with the future, to assume that it doesn’t exist like an approaching train stop but, rather, as something that will not materialize until we arrive there.

Eternity itself may very well prove the answer..
