I suppose it boils down to many layers of wishful thinking in a time of relative volatility. The cryptorush had been saturated in prospects beyond just investment opportunity - a more convenient/anonymous/versatile/dynamic currency acting somewhat antithetical to the whole system - a disruption to the status quo systems that so many pseudo-investors didn't want to (and now didn't need to) understand. Now it's as apparent as your message states: "We need to build up society’s strengths, not just have the heart telling the rest they don’t need so much blood and should work harder for what they do get."
