As a wise man once said: "The fact is we all die and no matter how long we live, it’s pretty short in the grand scheme of things. Yet while we mostly think of ourselves in terms of our thoughts and feelings, what really matters is the consciousness, not necessarily what we are conscious of. So if we thought of the spiritual absolute as that raw essence of sentience, which is constantly seeking out things to do and be, it explains a lot of what drives life and us, from total altruism, to total egotism."
